The Bear McCreary Appreciation Thread Epxwd

Absolutely (in my opinion) the best modern composer. He is best known for his work in the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica series, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and The Walking Dead, but he has worked in several other TV shows and independent films, he also scored the Capcom videogame "Dark Void" and more recently, SOCOM 4.

What makes him truly great is his versatility, he can work in a variety of very different styles (from a classic, orchestral John Williams-esque type as heard in Human Target, to a dark and tribal style, as heard in BSG) and yet you'll still be able to say "that's totally Bear's music".

Anyway, here are some examples of his work:

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - Sarah Connor's Theme

Human Target - Monastery In The Mountains

Battlestar Galactica - Passacaglia/The Shape of Things to Come

Battlestar Galactica - Gaeta's Lament

I'm on the final three episodes of Battlestar Galactica.

Also, Anne, you need to learn this on the piano.

You need 4 hands for it to sound good, though. You can tell by the shitty/rudimentary improvised version I always play not being as good.

I NEED MORE LIMBS

Anne and I play together on the plano quite a bit. I typically play the chords, and she plays the melody. WE WILL MAKE THIS WORK.
